2006 marks a great start to EDNF and it's members promoting EDS awareness.   A proclamation template was written to assist any groups or states that wanted to get May officially recognized as EDS Awareness Month on the political front. This information resulted in a great deal of political recognition on the local, state and national level.  Not only educating our elected officials but the general public as newspaper articles followed announcing the need for EDS awareness.  Congressmen Hon. Jerry Costello of Illinois , and Hon. Tom Price of Georgia each prepared speeches and added them to the Congressional Record in Washington D.C., Representative Hon. Thomas Holbrook proclaimed May as EDS Awareness Month for the State of Illinois and Mayor George Whitehurst of Crestview, Florida presented a plaque declaring May as EDS Awareness Month.  These contacts will prove valuable as EDNF continues its political advocacy next year.  Select the underlined link to read the actual document.
