I would like to know if Vascular EDS can effect lung tissue? If so, how? Print E-mail
Yes, it does. People with Vascular EDS are more likely to have little bubbles, called bullae, in the lung tissue and to having spontaneous pneumothorax - a condition in which air escapes from these blebs or bullae into the space around the lung and then collapse the lung.Taken from EDNF board - answered by Peter Byers, MD and Melanie Pepin, MS, CGC
