Finding a Local Group

We have local groups in many states, and new local groups are being organized. To see if there is a local group near you, please check the Local Groups List.

Each of our local groups determines its own mission: some focus on educating area medical professionals, some on increasing awareness and yet others are great at raising funds for their group and the foundation. If you live in an area where there are several EDNF local groups, you can choose the group that most closely meets your needs and interests.

Purpose of EDNF Local Groups

Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation has local groups across the country and in cyberspace too! Each group has been organized by a volunteer member and developed through the support of like-minded families near them. EDNF local groups are vital to the existence of the foundation and the ability to carry out its mission. They "put a face on EDS," making it more than just an unknown disorder. Local groups reach into their communities to:

  • Educate and raise awareness of EDS;
  • Provide real, human support;
  • Raise funds to further EDNF's mission; and
  • Change the future for people with EDS.

Starting a Local Group

If you are interested in organizing a local group, please contact the EDNF office for additional assistance and information. It is easier to start and manage a local group with more support available than ever before!

Any member of EDNF who is over 18 years of age can organize a local group. It only takes time, effort and a desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
