| Elizabeth Russell, MD |
|
Dr. Russell, attended Rutgers
Medical School, N.J., and did her medical residency at Cornell University
Medical School, N.Y., a research fellowship in biophysics at Cornell
University, and a clinical fellowship in rheumatology at U. North Carolina at
Chapel Hill, N.C. Dr. Russell is a fellow of both the American College of
Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology and Board-Certified in both
Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
Dr. Russell has been
affiliated with the Medical College of Wis. for over 20 years and has had
particular interest in EDS/heritable diseases of connective tissue and in
another rare disorder called RS3PE Syndrome. Dr. Russell states that her
contributions have been somewhat limited by family obligations which have
recently become more challenging. She decided last year to commute less
(was 2-3 hours a day!) and to begin a private practice in rheumatology near
home for the near future.
She has published primarily
on the RS3PE Syndrome but is presently assisting the Med. College of Wis. in
developing an interdepartmental clinic for patients with aortic diseases. This
will assist patients with connective tissue diseases that affect blood vessels
to obtain coordinated care. Dr. Russell still teaches and has taught
extensively at the undergraduate and graduate level at the Medical College of
Wisconsin, at the bedside and in the lecture hall, both of which she greatly
enjoys.
