2008 Conference for Kids & Teens

Our Kids & Teens Breakout Sessions - Designed to Inspire!

Living with EDS can be overwhelming even on our good days so how do we do it? The 2008
Learning Conference will give kids of all ages the answers with a little help from your friends!
All sessions will be facilitated and hands-on. We are going to introduce our youngest members
to the power of positive thinking and learning to be proactive in their lives. Sessions include:   EDS In The School Setting, Letting Our Voices Be Heard, Raising Awareness and The
Power of Positive Thinking
.  In addition to these sessions, we will have a Q & A “On the Couch” with
a doctor and a session geared for young people on Pain Management by our special guest Julie Nanos. For more information, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The 2008 EDNF Learning Conference welcomes kids & teens!

The conference in Houston has a lot to offer kids under 18 and we're so excited!  As part of our growing Kids & Teens Program at EDNF we are offering several sessions geared directly to kids.  This is NOT a day care situation, but working sessions.  The sessions are for kids only but parents will be provided will all literature and subject matter that will be distributed during the session.  Our primary purpose for this is based on feedback from past conferences where our younger members wanted opportunities to talk openly with their peers.  If you have any questions please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

It's a FRIDAY NIGHT PIZZA PARTY!

All kids ages 18 and under are invited to a pizza party on Friday night in the teen hospitality room.  We will announce the times as we get closer and have a head count of the number of kids 5-18.  There will be a $5 charge (at the door) and you can make your reservation at check-in or the EDNF General Store.  This is a great opportunity for our youth to meet others!

Book Reading and Signing by Julie Nanos!

EDNF Kids & Teens is proud to introduce you to Julie Nanos, author of the childrens book Send Painelius Floating Away!  After enduring a life a chronic pain as a result of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Julie was faced with the task of helping her son understand why his mommy was in pain and what it meant.  This beautifully illustrated book is a real treasure and we are to pleased that she will be joining us at the conference with sessions on pain management for children and adults.  In addition, Julie will be doing a book reading and signing copies!
